Ok, ENOUGH.
For the last time, ENL1 is NOT an option.
How many times and by how many different people does it need to be explained? Repeating ad infinitum that you believe it is possible is just making you look foolish and making an awful lot of people very angry.
I am not going to repeat all the reasons why it is not possible, re-read this entire thread if you need to, I will just say that what may have worked at another club (and none of us know the internal workings of whatever deal may have been done) will not work at Telford.
ENL2 IS an option, but not one that anyone in their right mind would even consider.
The Tigers have said all season long that the team operates within a sustainable budget. We are within a few weeks of the end of the season and Tom Watkins and the team have worked miracles this year within that constraint.
What possible reason could anyone have for doubting that we will have at least the same (if not improved) budget available for next season, when a lot of other teams are going to have to reduce their spending?

Like I said, agree to disagree on the ENL point. If a fan on a forum pointing out that there is more than one league open to Tigers should we need to/choose to go down that route makes people angry then I suggest that they try and get out more. I know the Tigers operate within a sustainable budget, and I know that the team have done well this season given that limited budget. I haven't said anywhere on this thread, or on any other thread for that matter, that either of those two statements aren't true. I hope we do have the same, if not a bigger, budget for next season. I can see where you're coming from, there is nothing to suggest that we won't have, but there's nothing wrong with having a backup plan just in case, is there?

Tom.
For ABSOLUTELY the last time.
You are entitled to your opinion, however misinformed it may be.
Even after a succession of people (who have a lot more experience of hockey than either you or I) have told you that what you are proposing is not possible, and that there is ABSOLUTELY NO POSSIBILITY of dropping to the ENL except to go to ENL2, you still think that you know better than everyone else and that in your private world anything is possible.
Even after a succession of people have told you that you risk doing damage to the team with these posts, you still keep banging on.
For all the notice that you take of other people, you may as well stick your fingers in your ears and go Lalalala.
Do you seriously think that you know better than everyone else?
I am ASKING you to give it up. For the good of everyones sanity, not least mine, accept what you have been told (or don't accept it, I don't much care which) and find a different tree to bark up.

Telford Tigers are an EPL team, As far as i'm aware Telford have never iced two ENL squads.
The reason most of our young brits are here is because they are getting great development and exposure. They trust Tom to develop the squad and develop them as players to play at the higher level. Some may be funded directly by parents to achieve the goal of playing EPL and the development it offers.
So if the extreme happened, two things would quickly happen, other teams would snap them up, players would quickly look for other options at the EPL level or closer to home. We are near the end of the season and players will be looking at options for next year, other clubs are starting to show interest in them.
What we need is faith in the people running the team, and of course they need 100% backing from the fans, players and anyone supporting the players financially be it a parent or business partner.
I have 100% faith the Tigers will succeed, but although people are open to have views, right now we all need to be singing from the same sheet on the same page, which is work hard for your team and help them grow.......
As SHREK said lets give this up and move forward and think of positive ideas to move forward,,,,,,please??

It's clear that this is going round and round in circles now. I've made my points, you've made yours, I think I'm right and you think you're right, so let's agree to leave it.
If a moderator feels that this thread could do damage to the club then feel free to delete it.

Yes we are in the right league and I for one believe that dropping to the ENL wouldn't work out...and I dont just mean ENL1 I mean ENL2 also.
I've heard people say well the Titans didn't get much more support last season because it's the titans and not the Tigers...what a load of rubbish. No doubt about it people were checking forums for scores in the EPL last season despite the Tigers not being in the league. People didn't go and watch the Titans because the standard is not great.
Anyway as Tom has said if this thread could cause damage to the team then why not delete it?

I agree lets move on to something POSITIVE i know that everyone should be able to voice their opinions but as people have said all this going on could be damaging the team and we really DON'T want to do that I personally think that this thread should be deleted for the sake of us and the Tigers !!!

One from me - and then I really would encourage winding up this thread. You can't beat getting the last word in I'm going to stand up for Tom here, although I don't agree with him and I've said so plenty of times - and he winds me up too! This thread has started to get way too personal which does no-one any favours. This is an UNOFFICIAL FANS forum. Tom has an opinion and he has expressed it. I don't know whether he is a Payette agent seeking to undermine the Tigers from Sheffield but somehow I doubt it. Tom - next time you're down for a game please do introduce yourself. I'd be happy to carry on this discussion in the rink bar. Personally it worries me how few people post on this forum and even when you do rattle the cage a bit people don't bite. A bit of passion is what got Tigers back in the EPL and it's what will keep them there - that and a large slug of cash. I'm not convinced that apathy from the majority of the fan base is a great attraction to sponsors either so we need to show them that a good groundswell of people care about the club - constructively. If (potential) players and sponsors are concerned reading this Forum then they're probably listening to the wrong people - I'd point them in the direction of any member of the Board who will be able to show them the figures and present a much more informed picture. As I see it no-one who has contributed to this 'discussion' has the faintest idea what state the Tigers finances are in so it is all conjecture. I'm happy to put my faith in the Board but I've heard a few figures bandied around for how much it costs to run an EPL team and it is significant. Asking the few members of the Board to do all the hard work and secure those funds is just not reasonable. Shrek - No-one can doubt your passion and you put your money and time where your mouth is. Everyone else - are you doing your bit, too? That's not a challenge that you need to respond to. That's your business and none of mine. Of course, one way that we can all help to raise money for the Tigers is via the 100 Club. The draw will be made this coming match night and contributions are significantly down on the past two months. Do you all have your numbers and have you paid up? Don't forget that draws will run through the off-season too and that is a great way for the team to earn some income without any associated outgoings. A nice little nest egg that will help to provide a solid foundation for the coming season. Contact me to get your Standing Orders set up.
