We are coming down from Scotland for the weekend February 11th to take it the two games, but we want somewhere nice to go and eat on the Friday night, maybe somewhere in Ironbridge?? Can anyone recommend a good place, a nice pub/restaurant, not a Beefeater or Wootherspoons, a country pub would be great, we have an engagement to celebrate within the family too.................any help would be appreciated, cheers Julie

Hi Julie,
If you would like to go to Ironbridge then I would recommend the Golden Ball. The food there is superb and not too badly priced for the quality.
They have a website too....http://www.goldenballinn.com

The Bucks Head at Long Lane (just north of Telford) is a lovely country pub and last time I was there they did good food. It may be a little bit out of your way if you're staying at the Park Inn though.

If you're coming to Telford then you have to visit Ironbridge, its a great place, plenty of pubs and so many eateries to shake a stick at. Personal favourites of mine are: The Swan and the Malthouse. Both also have rooms available if you need a place to stay and they serve really good food and proper beer. www.theswanironbridge.co.ukwww.themalthouseironbridge.co.ukIf you fancy something a little more 'local' and are not in to World Heritage sites, the following place also ranks VERY highly on the list - especially if you are a steak eater: www.beststeakinshropshire.co.ukThe food at the Bull is awesome, and is only probably a 10-15 minute drive from where Scott lives.
