:-) Would love to see who's "reporting" these players movements, as apart from the Iceman himself no one else is!!

I just really hope that we start announcing players soon.
By my calculations, there are only around 18 weeks left until the new season starts, so you can assume about 15 weeks until we should be playing friendlies, and according to the roster on our website, we have announced 3 signings. (Tom Watkins, Scott McKenzie and Dec Ryan).
I know that the team seem to prefer the drip-feeding approach to news releases, but as nothing has been announced since Dec Ryan was named at the Jubilee game, (what was that, 4 weeks ago?) it appears that the dripping tap has been turned off.
While most fans of other teams have had something to keep them excited, some even have a fair proportion of the squad named, we haven't, and that's how rumours start.
Personally, I have heard what I believe to be credible rumours of around 13-15 players (including Tom, Scott and Dec). All names that I can believe, and probably another 4-5 that I either know, or at least strongly believe, to be incorrect.
In the electronic age, secrets are a very hard thing to keep. Someone, somewhere always lets the cat out of the bag, be it Iceman, THF or on any of the other teams forums.
I personally think that holding on to the names of signings runs the risk of fans just shrugging and saying "Oh, they've finally got around to naming him" when things are officially announced.
Not the excitement that is generated by a totally unexpected signing.
I don't mean to be negative. I think that whoever Tom has signed, the Tigers will continue to progress and I am really excited about the upcoming season. I do get frustrated though, when everyone appears to "know" something before it is made public.

Generally it is not our policy to release signing information until the deal is completed. And we do like to maintain interest through the summer - not everyone is proactively scouring the internet for news so we need to keep feeding the media over these five months. There is a lot of speculation - some close to the mark, a lot wildly inaccurate. However, we're not likely to refute every rumour while the team is still being assembled and negotiations incomplete as no coach would want to rule out all his options. And there are people who like to put out 'spoilers' for whatever reason. We cannot control them. But please remember, apart from the playing staff, everyone connected to Tigers is a volunteer. While we take it as a compliment that you all expect a professional service, because that's what we aim to deliver, sometimes real careers and famillies have to take priority. We welcome more volunteers to come on board and help share the workload. Might not allow us to release signings any quicker, but might help keep you occupied while you wait!

:-) Would love to see who's "reporting" these players movements, as apart from the Iceman himself no one else is!! Most of the ones that have been sourced from him on here have been put on THF before. Could it be that he's just recycling what he reads on THF? ;D

We've been linked with Swindon's Sam Bullas on THF today. Not a bad young player if he is coming here.

More rumours by the iceman:
18-year-old Jack WATKINS, younger brother of Tigers' Coach Tom, has decided to leave the club to further his career, possibly with EIHL Coventry for whom he iced 3 times last season.
Canadian-born British forward Andy McKINNEY re-signs for the Tigers for a second season.
Coach WATKINS who said he has had a lot of interest from players wishing to join the Tigers added, 'I wanted to retain a lot of the young players we had last season. That gives us something to build on.'

Wherever he ends up, just a big thanks to him and the other guys who gave a lot to a team without any history, quite a risk on their part, but have now moved on. If Tom is getting requests from people to come and play for us, its in no small part down to Tom,these guys and the ones who have re-signed for 2011/12

Its all gone quiet on the Tigers' rumour front - anybody got any juicy rumours to re-ignite the forum a little and get people chatting? Only seems to be myself, Shrek, Tom, Benji, Darkhorse, Tigershots, Deall & Brav607 on here at the moment

WELL, Steven Stamkos is a restricted free agent so if tampa dont sign him by july 1st we could have a 'stab' :-)
See Bullas has signed for the Wildcats so can strike him off the roster

Truth be told, rumours concerning the Tigers roster appear thin on the ground - particularly if you want to place little store on what is reported on THF.
There's the one about Stuart Brittle joining Tigers from Sheffield (or possibly Luke joining Stuart *in* Sheffield) which hasn't been resolved one way or the other by either club and that's about all I've heard.
How about a bit of wish list based on apparent availability then (just to prompt some discussion)
* Swindon have already signed three imports and neither Jonas Hoog nor Egidijus Bauba are amongst that three. Wouldn't mind either of them * Viktor Kubenko appears to be available at the moment.

I've heard Ad Brittle has signed for MK again which is a shame if he has...would of loved to see him in a tigers shirt again.
