Have any locally-trained players said if they will be playing for the Tigers next season?

Have any locally-trained players said if they will be playing for the Tigers next season? ...I guess we'll find out over the coming weeks, albeit the cricket game may be a fairly good indicator :-)

There's the one about Stuart Brittle joining Tigers from Sheffield (or possibly Luke joining Stuart *in* Sheffield) which hasn't been resolved one way or the other by either club and that's about all I've heard. Apparently Payette has said he's going to build an "all-Sheffield" team, i.e. one that is made up of players who have come through the junior ranks in South Yorkshire plus a couple of imports. 11 of the 15 players they've announced so far played junior in Sheffield, and 3 of the 4 who didn't are imports. Now, the million dollar question is whether he'll make an exception for Stuart Brittle who lives in Sheffield, and whether he'll allow Luke (whom I believe is going there for university?) to join him should he want to. Personally I think Payette would be mad not to want Stuart back, he was one of their best Brits last season.

If he's going to Coventry Uni then I guess that improves our chances of retaining him, being the nearest EPL club. Unless of course Paul Thompson wants him at the Blaze, or he's going to play ENL there to concentrate on his studies.
As good as he is I think another year at EPL level would be good for him, and if he was to go ENL then I think it would be a waste of his talent although with his studies it would be understandable.
All speculation of course.
Best player (IMHO) to have come out of our junior system for a while. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Whilst it's nice to have locally trained players, as a semi pro club I believe that Tigers should be looking to sign the best players we can regardless of where they're from. That being said we do have local players who I feel are good enough to play for us, and if Watkins believes that they're good enough and he can sign them within his budget then great

I would have thought that locally-trained players could save the club some money, as they wouldn't require travel expenses or accommodation (I don't know this for sure though), and they could also help to bring in crowds as their families and friends would turn up to watch them play. We've had a number of local players who have played for GB teams over the years.

Good luck in Sheffield, Ash.
Disappointed we couldn't tempt Stuart Brittle back down to Telford. I think he would have been a really good addition to the squad.

Good luck to Ash in Sheffield.
Barry Hollyhead, who has been linked with us, has re-signed with the MK Lightning. Canadian import goalie Greg Blais is coming to the EPL according to his agent, and we've got a spot free...2+2=4?

Anyone heard anything about Marek coming back? Tom said he was in discussions with him during his coaches report at the AGM. Wonder if his negotiations proved fruitful?

hmmm, and if the Greg Blais rumour is true, what do you think to having an import goal keeper? :S especially when having a good young brit keeper
