I was just driving along, enjoying the sunshine, and thinking "so which players would I like to return for Tigers next season?"....... When I got home I found the Shropshire Star on the doormat. A casual glance at the back page and there's a wee story at the top of the page announcing that Scott Mc will be returning for a 2nd season ;D What a great start to the off season. I really thought that Scott (along with all the lads to be fair) had put himself (themselves) in the shop window after such a good season, and would take up another offer from one of the big boys. I think it shows great commitment to the Tigers cause and it's one of the characteristics of the type of player that we should be attracting. I just hope now that the majority of the team will now follow suit and help Tigers move on to bigger and better things. Although I think that Scott is without question a key signing, I wouldn't want to choose any one player over another......I'd like them all to come back! If we can afford to throw in another couple of imports we'd be in for a very exciting season. For what it's worth, I'd also like to see Janak come back playing D, Marek if he's finally caught up on his studies ( ), and Pinc and Cesky from Bees to make up the import quota. The goalie tandem is a no-brainer, Marty and Dec have been awesome all season. Anybody else?

I saw that too, problems with the website mean't the story couldn't 'go live' over the weekend but hopefully it should be on sometime today if the webmaster has the opportunity :-)

Very pleased to have Scott back for another season ;D Definately my player of the year for 2010-11.
I agree pablo, we need to retain as much of this seasons' squad as we can, but it will be tough with other teams no doubt sniffing around. I'm not so sure about Cesky and Pinc, I think they may command a higher price than bringing new imports across from Europe (or NA) because they're established here and the other clubs know they can do the business.

Not going to disagree with you here Tom, but the only thing with bringing in an unknown quantity is that you COULD end up with a Jason Cassells (result!)..........but you might end up with someone that's, and i won't be naming names, is less than prolific in front of the net I only threw I Pinc and Cesky because I've been impressed with them whenever I've seen them play.

Yeah, would love to have Cesky and Pinc, but on a limited budget I think it's worth taking a gamble on an unknown player rather than bringing in an established name for double the money. Looking back at players Tigers have bought over here in the past, our track record is pretty good. Karol Jets was amazing in his first season here. As you point out, Cassells was so good that he ended up being poached by an EIHL team. Then you've got guys like Tomas Janak, Andre Niec, Juraj Huska, etc who can do/did do the job

Nobody has started a rumour thread yet, so thought I'd start and pin one for you. I've not heard any player rumours at all myself, bout no doubt some of you out there have - so spill the beans!!

Gary Clarke has left MK...maybe he's coming back home? ;D It would certainly be a massive coup for Watkins if he could pursuade him to come to Tigers!

Clarke has gone to Chelmsford as a player-coach. Bit of a waste in my opinion because he can still perform at EPL level, but I guess the incentive to move into coaching is the reason he's signed for them.
Tom Carlon has joined Slough. A bit gutted because I thought we could have snapped him up after he left Peterborough. I've also heard that Josh Bruce may be heading down to the Hangar...I really hope that one is wrong!
Anyone else got any rumours?

Would love to have Zajac back On THF it's rumoured that Ash Calvert could be moving to Sheffield, with Stuart Brittle moving the other way.

Dwayne Newman won't be returning to Phantoms but wants to continue playing. Perhaps a return to the Tigers - although Chelmsford also seems to be a possibility.

Did hear Dwaynes name linked with Chelmsford as player/coach, but that job has gone to Gary Clarke.
I think that he is still plenty capable of doing a job at EPL level and would love to see him back in a Tigers shirt.
